TheNwothm.com is built for one purpose: to support and celebrate the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal. We cover new releases, reviews, interviews and scene updates from across the world, giving bands a platform where their work is taken seriously and reaches the fans who care about it.
Everything published on the site comes from a small team of writers who are genuinely passionate about this music. We’re fans first, and that enthusiasm drives the tone, depth and spirit of the platform. As the genre continues to grow, we’re looking to welcome new voluntary contributors who want to help champion these bands and strengthen the global Nwothm community.

How to apply
Applying to join the team is quick and done entirely through our form. We’ll ask for your name, where you’re from, and a little about any writing experience you have — whether you’re completely new or already comfortable putting your thoughts into words. You’ll also be able to tell us which bands you love and choose the role you’re most interested in. At the end, you can upload a writing sample, or simply let us know you’re happy to create one. The form only takes a few minutes, and it gives us everything we need to get to know you and understand how you might fit into the team.
Contributor Property:
You retain full ownership of any contributions you submit to TheNwothm. Once your work appears on TheNwothm, you agree not to publish the same content on any other platform. Feel free to share links to your published work on social media. It helps promote both you and TheNwothm, and we strongly encourage it.
Voluntary Role:
While TheNwothm encourages donations to help cover its costs, this is a voluntary position, and no monetary compensation will be provided to contributors in exchange for the content they submit. As much as we would like to offer compensation, it is simply not possible at this time.
Behaviour And Conduct:
TheNwothm is a welcoming, inclusive community and we want to keep it that way. We don’t tolerate homophobia, sexism, racism, harassment, bullying, discriminatory behaviour or the promotion of extreme political views. If any of that is connected to your activity on or around TheNwothm, your role will end immediately.
Upholding Reputation:
As part of the team, we’d ask that you represent TheNwothm positively and respectfully in how you talk about TheNwothm, the music and the community. We’d also just ask that you continue to carry that spirit with you even if you move on. Once part of the family, always part of it.
Writer Knowledge:
You should have a basic understanding of WordPress and be able to format your content correctly. You will write and edit your own work, and all submissions will enter a review queue to ensure quality and relevance. Occasional grammatical or formatting errors are expected, and your content will be checked before publication. Training resources and templates are available, and you should review previous posts to understand the correct style and structure.
Timeframes For Submissions:
The music industry moves fast, and timely submissions are what keep our coverage relevant. We ask that you stick to agreed deadlines. If you’re ever unsure whether something is still timely, just ask.
Confidentiality Of Music:
Labels may provide confidential or watermarked material for review purposes. You are responsible for protecting all promotional content. Do not share or use this material for anything other than creating your review. Labels trust us with this material so please treat it with care.
Communication:
TheNwothm uses Discord for regular communication so we can keep track of how things are going. If anything comes up that stops you completing an assignment, just let us know as soon as you can so we can reassign it. Staying in touch is important and the more you communicate, the better the experience for you and the team.
